Textos Completos Autorizados

Investigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nutritional status of infants and toddlers: insights from China.

Investigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nutritional status of infants and toddlers: insights from China.

Fuente:Population Health Metrics

Extracto: This study adds to a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on childhood nutrition. Notably, the findings highlight that weight gain attributable to the pandemic was predominantly among vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds and younger age groups, who were already at a higher risk of overweight/obesity before the pandemic. Consequently, our findings imply the necessity of greater caution to the widened gap in childhood malnutrition post-pandemic. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of implementing adaptable strategies with the consideration of social justice to safeguard all children's right to optimal growth from exogenous shocks and to achieve the children-related SDGs by 2030.

The Implementation Process Assessment Tool: translation, contextualization, and psychometric evaluation of a Swedish version in a municipal elderly care context.

Fuente:Bmc Health Services Research

Extracto: The 27-item Swe-IPAT, translated into Swedish and contextualized, demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties when tested in an elderly care context. The instrument is suggested to be useful in providing feedback to managers in tailoring support and assessing implementation efforts among healthcare staff in elderly care. However, more research is needed to evaluate its properties throughout the entire implementation process and to test the usability of Swe-IPAT in other settings.

Evaluation of V-type titanium cable internal fixation for the treatment of young adult fifth lumbar spondylolysis: technical notes and a retrospective clinical study.

Fuente:Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research

Extracto: The use of a V-shaped titanium cable in conjunction with a pedicle screw internal fixation system for the management of fifth lumbar spondylolysis in young individuals is characterized by its ease of execution and ability to yield favorable outcomes. This approach relies on the prerequisite that patients with minimal intervertebral disc injury or mild lumbar spondylolisthesis demonstrate high overall success rates but experience low failure rates associated with internal fixation. Most significantly, this technique involves segmental internal fixation, which safeguards the functional spinal unit (FSU).

Phenotypic and transcriptomic profiling of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived NK cells and their cytotoxicity against cancers.

Fuente:Stem Cell Research & Therapy

Tipo de trabajo:Estudio clínico

Extracto: This study highlights the potential of iPSCs as an effective alternative cell source for generating NK cells. Using a two-step in vitro monolayer feeder-free system, we successfully generated iNK cells that not only expressed key NK cell markers and their receptors but also displayed a transcriptomic profile closely resembling PB-NK cells. Furthermore, iNK cells exhibited cytotoxicity against CCA and BCA cell lines comparable to that of PB-NK cells. This approach could pave the way for off-the-shelf NK cell products, potentially enhancing the effectiveness of adoptive NK cell therapy.

Fuente:Bmc Public Health

Extracto: Perceptions of anti-Black racism and racial discrimination in Canadian health care are complex and may include intra-racial group differences. This study begins to address the dearth of empirical research documenting experiences of anti-Black racism in health care in Quebec, highlighting a continued need for serious consideration of the ways in which racism may manifest in the province, as well as a need for anti-racist advocacy. Advancing racial health equity requires greater sensitivity from providers and decision makers to variations in Black patients' health care experiences, towards ensuring that they have access to high quality and equitable health care services.
