Textos Completos Autorizados

Extracto: DCIS is a molecularly highly heterogenous disease with variable outcomes, and the molecular events determining DCIS disease progression remain poorly defined. Our genome-wide multi-omic survey documents DCIS-associated alterations and reveals molecular heterogeneity within the intrinsic DCIS subtypes. Further studies investigating intrinsic subtype-stratified characteristics and molecular signatures are needed to determine if these may be exploitable for risk assessment and mitigation of DCIS progression. The highly significant associations of specific gene sets with IBC progression revealed by our Gene Set Enrichment Analysis may lend themselves to the development of a prognostic molecular score, to be validated on independent DCIS cohorts.

Exploring the role of digital technology for feedback exchange in clinical training

Fuente:Systematic Reviews

Tipo de trabajo:Revisión

Extracto: This review highlighted a geographical imbalance in research on feedback exchange via digital tools for clinical training and stressed the need for increased studies in the global South. Furthermore, there is a call for broader exploration across other health professions and postgraduate education. Additionally, student perceptions of digital tools as intrusive necessitate a balanced integration with traditional feedback dialogues. The incorporation of virtual reality and artificial intelligence presents promising opportunities for personalized, real-time feedback, but requires vigilant governance to ensure data integrity and privacy. Prevalence and virulence of Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolated from clinical and environmental samples in Huzhou, China.

Fuente:Bmc Genomics

Extracto: We observed that the environmental serotypes of V. parahaemolyticus exhibit greater diversity compared to clinical isolates, which are predominantly concentrated in three major serotypes. Furthermore, a considerable genetic distance was found between most clinical and environmental isolates. Notably, some clinical isolates show a closer genetic proximity to environmental isolates. Additionally, the distribution of virulence genes, specifically T3SS and tdh, significantly differs among isolates from these two distinct sources. The prediction results for antibiotic resistance genes suggest that environmental isolates may harbor a broader spectrum of resistance genes. The findings of this study provide new insights into the phylogenetic relationships between V. parahaemolyticus strains from clinical and environmental sources, and they enhance the MLST database.

Extracto: This study provides substantial evidence of the multilayered and complex intersection between COVID-19-related GHG and population health research priorities in Canada. Although the window of opportunity was slim according to study respondents, there was still a unique collective effort to address COVID-19-related socioeconomic and health inequities by considering the numerous recommendations proposed by the four groups of study respondents. These recommendations can directly contribute to improving knowledge of global and national population health and equity research strategies in the context of an evolving pandemic and for policy- and decision-makers to adjust and rectify the course of global and public health governance.

Extracto: Overall blinding status in current acupuncture clinical trials shows a majority correctly guessing for the verum group and opposite guessing for the sham group. However, in some acupuncture trials, the blinding of sham acupuncture might be compromised. Factors such as the Asian population, penetrating sham needling, and querying participants about their group assignment during the study increase the risk of unblinding and warrant careful consideration in sham acupuncture control design. Furthermore, researchers should closely monitor the blinding status of sham acupuncture and transparently report details of blinding assessments.
