Textos Completos Autorizados

When safety becomes the priority: defensive nursing practice and its associated factors among nurses in Egypt: a cross-sectional study.

When safety becomes the priority: defensive nursing practice and its associated factors among nurses in Egypt: a cross-sectional study.

Fuente:Peerj

Extracto: The study identified a high engagement in both positive and negative defensive practices among nurses in Egypt. These practices are influenced by factors such as age, education level, and experiences of workplace violence and legal threats. The findings underscore the need for strategies to support nurses, reduce reliance on defensive practices, and ensure better patient outcomes.

Extracto: Low maternal BMI before pregnancy was an independent risk factor for hypercholanemia. Additionally, pre-pregnancy underweight or OWO may amplify the effect of hypercholanemia on adverse pregnancy outcomes. Thus, pre-pregnancy BMI should be considered in the management of adverse perinatal outcomes related to gestational hypercholanemia.

Comparative analysis of SD biosensor standard(™) M10 HPV and seegene anyplex(™) II HPV HR for detecting high-risk human papillomavirus: a concordance study.

Fuente:Bmc Infectious Diseases

Extracto: The SD Biosensor Standard™ M10 HPV POCT and the Seegene Anyplex™ II HPV HR assay demonstrated almost perfect agreement in hrHPV detection and classification, supporting their complementary roles in cervical cancer prevention. M10's rapid, field-deployable design makes it suitable for resource-limited settings, while Anyplex provides enhanced genotyping capability in laboratory environments, allowing informed vaccine strategy. Incorporating both assays into cervical cancer prevention programs can improve screening coverage and accessibility, particularly in underserved areas. These findings align with the World Health Organization's cervical cancer elimination goals, reinforcing the importance of adaptable diagnostic tools in diverse healthcare contexts.

The relationship between maternal oral health parameters, inflammatory blood markers, and the evaluation of their effects on preterm low birth weight.

Fuente:Bmc Pregnancy and Childbirth

Tipo de trabajo:Estudio clínico

Extracto: Considering the study's limitations, the principal results suggest a statistically significant difference in oral health, with women delivering low birth weight infants exhibiting poorer outcomes than control groups. Analysis of secondary outcomes indicates that oral health is not an independent predictor of preterm birth; instead, its contribution may be indirect and through systemic inflammation. Effective collaboration between obstetricians and dentists is crucial for the early detection and management of oral health issues in pregnant patients. Prioritizing the creation of public health policies designed to reduce the incidence of preterm births and strengthen maternal-fetal well-being is essential. CLINICAL TRIAL NUMBER: Not applicable.

Fuente:Bmc Pregnancy and Childbirth

Tipo de trabajo:Estudio aleatorizado y controlado

Extracto: The culturally adapted Internet-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program significantly reduced tokophobia and enhanced maternal self-efficacy, supporting its integration into perinatal care. These findings align with Bandura's Self-Efficacy Theory and suggest the potential of digital interventions in improving psychological outcomes, especially in resource-limited settings. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Integrating the program into routine antenatal care could provide accessible, cost-effective support for women experiencing tokophobia, potentially reducing unnecessary cesarean sections and informing health policy regarding the effectiveness of the ICBT program. Future research should assess long-term outcomes and generalizability in diverse populations.
