Todos los años se producen grandes incendios que abarcan amplias regiones en todo el planeta. Es importante la realización de estudios epidemiológicos que describan las características de cada región y los comportamientos del clima en relación con la contaminación del aire posterior a los incendios forestales para poder evaluar el efecto que estos producen en la salud, sobre todo en las hospitalizaciones por causas cardíacas o respiratorias.
