  A SHORT REVIEW OF ASCARIASIS
The oldest human helminthiasis due to Ascariasis, although a health-problem in tropics, is not uncommon in other parts. It can involve the hepato-biliary system too. The disease burden can be addressed by mass eradication programme but still is a high cause of mortality, growth retardation and other morbidities. Susceptibility, worm load and other genetic factors are avenues for further research. Conservative treatment suffice, but surgery may be indicated in selected cases. Endoscopic treatment are highly effective in biliary ascariasis.

SENSITIVITY OF FECAL IMMUNOCHEMICAL TEST IN DETECTING COLORECAL NEOPLASMS Artículos relacionados
Cumulative evidence has confirmed that FIT is a sensitive screening test with the potential to decrease the mortality of CRC when it is implemented at the population level. The evaluation of FIT performance is an important first step before implementation of the preventive strategy; however, one positive test is not equal to one cancer detected. Many other important issues complicate the screening process. To improve the effectiveness on the population level, a step-by-step evaluation of the screening process is needed.

  RECENT ADVANCES IN AUTOIMMUNE PANCREATITIS
Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a peculiar type of pancreatitis that mimics pancreatic cancer. AIP is divided into type 1, a pancreatic manifestation of IgG4-related disease, and type 2 characterized by granulocytic epithelial lesion. As AIP responds dramatically to steroid therapy, accurate diagnosis is necessary in order to avoid unnecessary surgery.

CHOLESCINTIGRAPHY IN ACUTE ACALCULOUS CHOLECYSTITIS
 In patients diagnosed with acalculous cholecystitis on USG, it is difficult to decide on further course of action – medical Vs surgical. Cholescintigraphy findings of either non visualization of gall bladder or GBEF < 40% were used as pointers to select patients who would benefit from surgery.
