INTERFERON-GAMMA RELEASE ASSAYS FOR TUBERCULOSIS SCREENING OF CHILDREN
The prevalence of positive interferon-gamma release assays is correlated to the occurrence of active tuberculosis, which varies widely among migrant children of different backgrounds. More accurately than tuberculin skin tests, they identify those with tuberculosis infection and are effective for screening of migrants. Urgent, active cases may present within weeks after arrival and need clinical recognition.

SENSITIVITY OF FECAL IMMUNOCHEMICAL TEST IN DETECTING COLORECAL NEOPLASMS
Cumulative evidence has confirmed that FIT is a sensitive screening test with the potential to decrease the mortality of CRC when it is implemented at the population level. The evaluation of FIT performance is an important first step before implementation of the preventive strategy; however, one positive test is not equal to one cancer detected. Many other important issues complicate the screening process. To improve the effectiveness on the population level, a step-by-step evaluation of the screening process is needed.

EPILEPSY AND VITAMIN D
Vitamin D has a central role in the nervous system. Epilepsy patients generally exhibit low level of vitamin D and co-morbidities that are also related to vitamin D. Most antiepileptic drugs have an effect to lower serum level of vitamin D while vitamin D supplementation has been shown to decrease seizures. We recommend routine screening of epilepsy patients on antiepileptic drugs and supplement vitamin D if needed.
