O trabalho mostrou que quando células são carreadas para defeitos ósseos criados em calvarias de ratos por arcabouços de polímero e fosfato de cálcio, as células-tronco mesenquimais e osteoblastos em estágio inicial de diferenciação contribuem mais para a formação óssea do que osteoblastos em estágio mais avançado.
