EFICACIA OSTEOGÉNICA DEL COMPLEJO DE OSEÍNA-HIDROXIAPATITA EN MUJERES CON OSTEOPOROSIS
El tratamiento de la osteoporosis sin fractura en nuestra muestra de mujeres mayores de 65 años con el complejo de oseína-hidroxiapatita y vitamina D se asocia a una formación ósea significativamente superior a la observada con el tratamiento con carbonato cálcico y vitamina D. Este mayor estímulo formador óseo junto a una mayor tendencia a la preservación de la densidad mineral ósea podría asociarse a un menor riesgo de fractura.

HYDROXYAPATITE-COATED POROUS IRON BONE SCAFFOLDS
Hydroxyapatite-coated porous iron was developed for hard tissue scaffolds and its degradation and cell-material interaction were studied. The coating was able to slow down the degradation of porous iron while enhanced viability of human skin fibroblast and human mesenchymal cells. This study showed evidence of the potentiality of bioactive porous iron scaffold in orthopaedic surgery.

Subchondral bone cysts (SBCs) may contribute to knee osteoarthritis (OA) pathogenesis. SBCs within knee OA are characterized by focally increased bone turnover, altered bone structure and more severe articular cartilage damage. The increased bone turnover possibly contributes to altered bone structure localized in SBC areas, and thus aggravates articular cartilage degeneration.
