El trabajo ayuda a resolver la controversia en torno del tratamiento de la infección aguda hematógena de prótesis articulares.

INFECCION PROTESICA AGUDA HEMATOGENA: EVALUACION PROSPECTIVA DEL TRATAMIENTO MEDICO Y QUIRURGICO

Estudio multicéntrico prospectivo sobre el manejo médico-quirúrgico de la infección protésica aguda hematógena (IPAH). En total se incluyeron 50 IPAH, 19 causadas por S. aureus, seguidas durante 2 años. En el análisis multivariado el único factor asociado con fracaso terapéutico fue el haber sido tratado de manera conservadora sin retirar el implante.
