O estudo contribui para a discussão sobre exposição ao mercurio e os benefícios do aleitamento materno e do consumo de peixe na Amazônia

EXPOSIÇÃO AO MERCURIO EM CRIANÇAS SOB ALEITAMENTO MATERNO EXCLUSIVO

Assumindo que o cabelo é o melhor integrador da exposição passada ao Hg, o principal achado deste estudo é que o marcador de consumo de peixe (Hg no cabelo materno) foi significantemente correlacionado com os níveis de Hg no cabelo fetal. Esta significante correlação permaneceu até os seis meses de lactação.
