Introducción
In chronic headache and cervical pain psychiatric disorders and sustained contraction of the pericranial and cervical muscles. (also defined as muscle parafunction) may be present as co-morbid disorders. Muscle parafunction must be always adequately evaluated during patient examination and may be conveniently treated with a cognitive behavioural and exercise program designed to decrease muscle tension in the head, neck and shoulder area.
