O trabalho faz uma revisão detalhada de dois tratamentos biológicos que podem ser opções de tratamento não medicamentoso

COMPARAÇÃO DOS EFEITOS FISIOLÓGICOS, ASPECTOS CLÍNICOS, TÉCNICA E MECANISMOS DE AÇÃO DA ECT E DA RTMS

Neste artigo é feita uma revisão detalhada das semelhanças e diferenças entre os dois principais tratamentos biológicos não-medicamentosos existentes na atualidade para o tratamento da depressão, a eletroconvulsoterapia e a estimulação magnética transcraniana de repetição. São comparados detalhadamente os efeitos fisiológicos, os aspectos clínicos, a técnica e os mecanismos de ação. Por fim, é feita uma revisão da eficácia comparativa entre os dois tratamentos para a depressão.
