O tratamento contribui para a descoberta de novas vias mais eficazes de administração de vacinas para a leishmaniose

EFICÁCIA DE VACINAS INTRANASAIS PARA A PREVENÇÃO DA LEISHMANIOSE

Demonstramos que a via intranasal é eficaz para administração de vacinas normalmente exacerbadoras da doença quando administradas por via parenteral, como o antígeno bruto de Leishmania amazonensis e DNA que codifica a proteina LACK. O mecanismo de proteção parece envolver tanto tolerância periférica mas também imunidade ativa mista do tipo TH1 e TH2.
